[Announcement] Morisawa’s font service TypeSquare announces its 2023 offering - including new weights for A1 Mincho - enhancing our lineup by AP versions and fully expanded character sets!

On October 25, 2023, our font service TypeSquare releases its new 2023 font selection, including A1 Mincho (AP version) renewed as a family, as well as AP versions of classic fonts and fully expanded character sets - a total addition of 257 fonts.
As part of its new 2023 offering, our popular font with a touch of brush-stroke, A1 Mincho (AP version) becomes available in 3 different weights, plus its Latin typeface has been newly updated by a classic appearance. UD Shin Go Condensed (AP version) has also adjusted its Latin characters and been released as AP version, and W7 weight has been added to Hiragino Maru Go developed by SCREEN GP Japan.

For uniquely stylized fonts, we are introducing Bolcroid (a bold straight-lined font that gives a powerful impression), Gekkako (perfect for a mysterious effect), Ardeo (geometrically structured with round edges), Tsubuten (achieving a fine balance between cute and serious). They are ideal for designs to attract attention such as headlines and logos.

We are also releasing Keyaki Mincho Oldstyle / Keyaki Kaku Gothic Oldstyle for a soft and elegant impression, and Puhu Sour / Puhu Soiree for a retro and cheerful impression. Based on a Traditional Chinese font from Taiwan, Mikaze provides an image of refreshing breeze, and Suiryu Kiraboshi / Suiryu Yuyu Pop are great fonts to create a friendly atmosphere. Additionally, Kawara Mincho developed by the Mainichi Newspapers brings a modern taste in mincho style, and Shisendo Kaisho originally designed by a calligrapher is now digitized as a thick kaisho-style font.

For multilingual fonts, from a Latin font “Lutes UD” series, we are expanding its offering to Thai, Arabic and Devanagari.

Finally, AP versions of classic fonts and fully expanded character sets of kana fonts resulted 172 fonts as our new addition.

Now easier to use with more variety than ever, Morisawa’s font library will improve your quality of design.
